The Ladies of Polo

Sounds of laughter and the clinking of glasses flood through the kitchen and dining room of a Beau Chêne home, while women in ball gowns mill around the kitchen table, snacking on sandwiches and commenting on the size of the diamonds around each other’s neck. One could think this an everyday occurrence for the ladies of the Junior League, right?

The truth, however, is actually quite the opposite. These women don’t just spend their time partying, letting others do their work for them; they get their hands dirty and get involved in every aspect of their charitable activities. Planning an event such as the Harvest Cup Polo Classic takes all year—and thousands of man hours (or should we say woman hours?)—to coordinate. That’s why we at IN thought it might be nice to treat a few of the League’s Harvest Cup workers to a day of beauty and fashion. The shoot was a much needed break from their hectic schedules of assembling food and beverage vendors, soliciting sponsors, lining up entertainment, selling tickets and finalizing the day’s events.

We present to you the Ladies of Polo: Lynne Adcox, Bonnie Brister, Kim LaNasa, Jolie McCaleb, Mimi Monteiro, Lendon Noel, Stephanie Pastor, Bridgette Taranto and Shelly Waguespack.

The ladies assembled at the home of Bonnie and Bubby Brister—also the site of this year’s Harvest Cup Polo Patron Party—and modeled this fall’s hottest gowns from Ballin’s Ltd., Harold Clarke, Southern Bridal and Town and Country. The gals were also decked out in jewels from Boudreaux’s Jewelers, DeBoscq Jewelers, Deluca’s Expressions in Gold and Lowe’s Jewelers. With hair and makeup by the H20 Salon and Spa, the Ladies of Polo looked every bit the part of high-fashion models. Alas, at the end of the shoot, the high heels came off and the working boots were thrown back on. After all, there is work to be done—the 10th Annual Harvest Cup Polo Classic is just around the corner!
