Business Profile: Martini Rossi, A Fine Salon

by Cindy Harlan

If you’ve ever wondered whether something was meant to be, ask Martini Rossie.

Ask her about her distinguished hair studio and its charming locale in her beloved historic downtown Covington. It is there, at Martini Rossie on East Gibson Street, that Martini shares her passion for style and elegance with devoted clientele.

Since 1989, Martini has perfected her talent and practiced her artistry for cut and color. It’s evident that she loves what she does—she oozes vivacity. When asked what makes her business unique, Martini’s eyes glisten. With a smile that says one should already know the answer, she ardently declares, “Personal attention!” Martini takes pleasure in serving each client wholly on her own. She approaches each individually, as an artist would approach a blank canvas awaiting her creation, formulating the perfect geometric cut and palette of shades to match skin tone, hair length and lifestyle.

A forever learner, Martini is a student of her own craft, always seeking to discover new avenues for meeting the needs of her clients. She loves learning and teaching, saying, “It’s a priority. One of my greatest joys is to create a style for my client that is uniquely theirs and then to teach them to maintain their style long after they leave my studio.” She commits herself to ongoing professional development and continuing education. Having trained in numerous institutes nationwide, Martini prides herself in having a top-quality business, using only the best equipment and products. She trains with a Vidal Sassoon coach several times a year to meet her personal goals for professional growth.

While some would assume this 20-year veteran knows it all, Martini queries humbly, “How can I teach what I don’t know? I have such high expectations for myself, and I feel like I still have so much to learn.”

So, if you find yourself in need of a little personal attention, a respite from the frenzy or just a fresh new hairstyle, remember Martini Rossie. Martini loves people—and she loves to share her gift for making them beautiful. Her gracious warmth and generosity flood her Covington studio. With talent abounding, she is always eager for a new creative endeavor.

“I live life out loud!” Martini glows. “And I get to do what I love, everyday.”
