Revels with a Cause

There is special joy in having a great time, meeting new people and partying in honor of a good cause. Many of the best northshore parties offer just that. These events offer a fun way to pay homage – and currency – to social causes that are important to you and to our community as a whole. Party on!

The Greatest Show on the Northshore

October 2, 7 pm, 1 Brady Island, Madisonville

To benefit Rhett’s Walkers for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

The party will roll with Four Unplugged in the spotlight. Dress in costume for this fun fête, where anything goes! The second annual Greatest Show on the Northshore will be presented by Rhett’s Walkers for Juvenile Diabetes at the home of Rhett’s parents, Drs. Stefanie Schultis and Nick Landry. When Rhett Landry was diagnosed eight years ago, the group was formed to help him – and others like him from across the country – win against juvenile diabetes. Tickets are $75.

For tickets to The Greatest Show on the Northshore, contact Sue David at 898-1940.

“Breakfast at Tiffany’s” Sunday Brunch and Bowl Event

Sunday, September 26, 11:30 to 2 pm, Tiffany Bowling Lanes, Mandeville

To benefit Habitat for Humanity, St. Tammany West

Bowl your entire family over with tickets to this fun event. You can even wear your own team shirts!

Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit Christian organization dedicated to the elimination of substandard housing worldwide. Habitat unites people in need with people of resources to build simple, decent and affordable homes. The houses are sold at cost, with no-interest loans.

For additional information, call Ann Borne, 893-3172.

The Donz Soirée

September 19, 6-10 pm, Lake Pontchartrain Basin Maritime Museum, Madisonville

To benefit the Donnie Jarrell Fund.

The Blue Meanies will rock the house in this benefit honoring special education teacher Donnie Jarrell, who has been diagnosed with Lou Gehrig’s Disease. Restaurants from across the area will serve up everything from BBQ oysters to quesadillas. A raffle will offer a three-night riverboat cruise on The Grand American Queen donated by Delta Queen Steamboat Co. This snappy casual event, limited to 400 participants, is $85 per person.
