Drawing on a rich background of experience and imbued with creative energy, Nancy Robbins has carved a distinctive niche in the northshore design community. Her roomy, 3,000-square-foot Mandeville showroom in the Forest Park Shopping Center is home to an inviting array of antiques, furniture, hand-knotted Oriental rugs and accessories that appeal to a wide audience on both sides of the lake.

Fabulous fabrics, rich color, texture, pattern and style are hallmarks of the design space, where Nancy also features artwork by some of her favorite artists. The works of internationally known sculptor William Binnings and painter Robert Cook are prominently displayed among custom-designed furniture and magnificent 19th century European architecturals and antiques.

Whether the scope of the project is large or small, Nancy is able to handle any facet of architectural and interior design, offering clients a full range of ceiling-to-floor services, including custom lighting, drapery, bedding and upholstery. In addition to providing a beautiful selection of bench-made furniture from Italy and France, she also works with three local artisans who fabricate her original designs to create masterful furniture pieces and custom doors.

Quality craftsmanship is characteristic of her work, and Nancy’s expertise shines through as she creates elegant, comfortable environments that reflect the lifestyles and tastes of her clients. As one who enjoys entertaining and gourmet cooking, Nancy has a special affinity for kitchen design and renovation. She is adept at introducing design elements, such as European wall sconces, which entertain the eye–even in small spaces.

A native New Orleanian, Nancy established studios in New York, New Mexico and Dallas before returning to Louisiana and settling on the northshore fifteen years ago. During seven years at her design studio on Lee Lane in Covington, she developed a loyal clientele before relocating her retail store to Mandeville in 2001.
