May I Have this Dance?

The northshore’s Junior CotillionCorsages and boutonnieres, dance cards, favors and prizes, refreshments and theme-related games and contests using snowballs and sleigh bells highlighted holiday balls held by the Northshore Chapters of The National League of Junior Cotillions.

The Castine Center at Pelican Park was filled with young gentlemen in coats and ties, and young ladies in dresses or gowns—and gloves. Following the receiving line and the Grand March, the students danced to the fox trot, cha cha, swing and current line dances to top forty tunes.

The National League of Junior Cotillions is an etiquette and social dance training program for sixth through ninth graders.

Mark and Debbie Grush, directors of the local Junior Cotillion, note, “This was a marvelous opportunity for students to practice the social skills they have been learning thus far.”
