When the bank called to say it was time to renew loan documents, I knew we’d had another birthday. It was exactly four years ago at my kitchen table that Brad and I sat down to design what we thought would be a great “new” magazine for the northshore.

This is our 23rd issue, and I am happy to say that some of those original ideas are still favorites. Publishing Inside Northside is fun. We’ve shared great stories, interviewed inspiring northshore residents and profiled some of our community’s best achievements. Our repertoire has grown with the magazine, and I am always overwhelmed when the latest issue arrives from the printer. The process is somewhat like having a baby. Thrilling, exhausting, interesting, educational and exciting. See what I mean? Parenthood!

We hope you like our newest offspring. It is filled with heartwarming northshore tales and insights on what to do this summer—including celebrating some other notable birthdays. Happy Birthday, United States! Happy Birthday, Causeway! Happy Birthday(s), Audubon Institute!

ps: Speaking of babies and birthdays …

I always assumed that no one could top the high “cute quotient” my girls had when they were babies. But, as this pic shows, the new Jourdan twins just might. New daddy Chris certainly thinks so. Happy Father’s Day to him, and all the other fathers in our lives.
