From the Editor

by Stacey Paretti Rase

I am absolutely thrilled to be on board with Inside Northside! After spending the past six years contributing stories to the magazine, it feels like slipping into comfortable shoes when I sit down at my new desk. And the work is very varied and exciting, which I have found to be perfect for a gal like me who gets bored with too much of the same thing. I’ve learned so many things putting this issue together!

I’ve learned a lot about myself, as well. I’ve found that I am a “Jill-of-all-trades and master-of-none,” which seems to be par for the course for a magazine editor. I know just enough about a variety of subjects that I can navigate my way around any story. Before landing here at IN, I received a psychology degree, a real estate license, and a Ph.D. in motherhood. (I’m raising four kids.) I have worked as a newspaper reporter, free-lance writer and community volunteer, and even have enough hours in the air to proclaim that I am on my way to becoming a pilot. Nothing holds my attention for very long. I love the idea of learning for learning’s sake only, and then moving along to the next project … and this job certainly fits that bill.

I’d love to hear what you want to learn from the pages of IN. Give me a call or shoot me an e-mail to offer up your ideas. Because, the way I see it, we’re all on this journey together. I’m just so honored to be along for the ride.

Congratulations to Cindi Hereford of Mandeville, the winner of our Word Search in the April/May edition. Enjoy your cookbook!
