Inside Input

Dear ISNS:

I am writing on behalf of northshore teenagers. We have a message we want to scream out - this town is boring! We want to socialize outside of school activities and we are left at a dead end!
For those of us between the ages of 14-20, entertainment choices are virtually non-existent. We are too young to drink, but too old to enjoy bowling or putt-putt.

Growing up in Mandeville was a positive experience for me for the most part, but I was jealous of New Orleans friends going to a teen club or a “foam party” for all ages. There are so many different social activities available to them. I feel that with our growing teenage population, some fun new options should be available.

Thankfully, I am nearly out of this stage, but I speak for the generation behind me. If someone with an entrepreneurial spirit wants to make some big bucks, they should think of something that would entertain that “older-than-kids but not-quite-adults” age group that has the money to spend but nowhere to spend it. They will flock to any form of entertainment - in droves.

Dear Michelle,
We’re happy to put the word out about this teenage dilemma. Be sure to check out Inside Scoop for some entertaining events and visit mandevilletrailhead.com for details on Senseless Saturdays, an event designed especially for teens.

Dear Lori,

Congratulations on another great issue. Inside Northside is a great read cover-to-cover! Even though we have been “come heres” for 13 years now, we feel we may have moved up a notch with our picture making it into Inside Peek.

Dear Lori,

As a follow-up to your feature on SSA, we’d appreciate your help getting the word out about an upcoming reunion. Members of the Class of ‘73 from St. Scholastica Academy and St. Paul’s High School of Covington, will hold a joint 30-year class reunion on the weekend of April 25 and 26.

It will be a memorable weekend of fun, and a rare opportunity to reminisce. Plans include an SSA Girl’s Night Out at the Covington home of Michael and Lisa Dugger, an SPA Guys Only Crawfish Boil at the River Oaks club house, a memorial Mass, and a Saturday night dinner dance at Gallagher’s on the Lake.

For reservations or more information, the alumni can contact Shelley Engelhardt Tolson at (504) 780-9447 or Lisa Mott Dugger at (985) 892-0725.

Sounds like fun! If you (or someone you know) were a member of SSA or SPA Class of 1973, don’t miss this chance to see old friends. Take along a camera and send us party pics for Inside Peek!
