Inside Input

Dear Editor,

My niece attends Cedarwood School in Mandeville. She shared this with me I thought it was worth passing on. I hope you agree.

Some children in Honduras are not allowed in school unless they have a uniform. Through the Cedarwood PTA, students donated used uniforms to a school in Nuevo Joconales. Because of their generosity these Honduran children are now able to attend school. They responded by sending a note to Cedarwood students saying, “God bless those who gave and those who brought them.”

Jane-
I can’t think of a more valuable use of this space than to share heartwarming news. Congratulations to the students for their efforts.

Finally the New Orleans north shore has a grand publication that reflects our wonderful area. As a person who has been involved in the business of art and graphics - I must commend you on the look and feel of your magazine. And as a resident of the area, I can feel pretty good knowing that your magazine travels beyond our area as a representative of the community. I look forward to seeing each issue.

Dear John-
It’s amazing, but we do hear from people from outside of our area regarding stories that have appeared in the magazine. Thank you for your comments and thanks to the readers who share our community, through Inside Northside, with people from across the state and the country.

Hi!

Christmas cookies have always been my thing. Over the years I have refined and improved the list of our favorites. In order to qualify they must be different in taste from the others, freeze well and not be fragile. I have made up to 26 different types for the holiday. Most end up on plates destined for work places, parties and holiday charitable bake sales or in boxes as gifts for family, friends and neighbors.

My name is Ariane Hirstius and I am the Bayou Lacombe Crab Festival Queen for 2002-2003. A photo of me at the festival appeared in your August/ September issue. Is it possible to acquire a copy?
Thank you,

Our first letter from royalty! There aren’t any copies of that issue left, but one of our staffers is going to send you her copy as a keepsake. Enjoy your reign!
